This past Saturday at the Patriot Invitational on the campus of Anderson University the Muncie Central Boys track team continued to improve on the early season. Competing against 25 schools from around the area. Top performances came from Mason Schnake in the high jump finishing in 2nd with a bar clearance and life time best of 6’1″. Jamar Davis in the pole vault finishing in 4th with a bar clearance and seasons best of 10’6″. Jaylil Abram in the 60 meter hurdles finishing in 6th with a life time best of 8.87. Eliseus Young in the 60 meter dash finishing in 8th with a season best time of 7.38. Eliyahu Young in the long jump finishing in 7th with a life time best of 19’11”. There were 2 relay teams with top 10 finishes. The 4 x 200 meter relay team of Eliyahu Young, Kaleb Beams, Quentin Charles, Eliseus Young finshed in 10th place with a time of 1:38.12. The Distance Medley Relay team of A.J. Martinez, Mason Schnake, Quentin Charles, Kavan Byrd finished in 6th place with a time of 11:37.66. A few athletes compete this Friday evening at Depauw University to try and qualify for The Hoosier State Relays in 2 weeks. The Bearcats open the outdoor season Friday April 6th in a dual meet against Huntington North.
