The Boys Track team got the season off to a great start on Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays Qualifier #2 on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University that featured 20 schools from around the state. The team had outstanding performances from a variety of athletes. Finishing in the top 10 were Kavan Byrd in the 3200 meter run with a life time best performance of 10:34.71. Jaylil Abram in the 60 meter hurdles with a life time best performance of 8.91. Mason Schnake in the high jump matching his life time best with a bar clearance of 6’0″. The Bearcats also had 2 relays finish in the top 10. The 4×200 meter relay team of Eliyahu Young, Kaleb Beams, Brandon Forrest, Quentin Charles finished in 10th place with a time of 1:39.11. The 4×800 meter relay team of Robert Thomma, Jacob Prybylla, Matt Thomma, Jaren Childers finished in 10th place with a time of 9:37.18. The Boys team with be back in action this Saturday at the Patriot Invitational on the campus of Anderson University with some Hoosier State Relay births on the line.
