Meet Recap

The Lady Bearcats were energized by a 1-2-3 finish in diving and carried that momentum to complete the win against Richmond this evening. The Red Devils went after the Bearcats in every race during the first half of the meet leaving Central with an 8 point deficit. Natalie Smith, Madison Cline, and Rachel Smith lead a 1-2-3 finish in diving that made up the deficit and provided a much needed spark for the ladies. Natalie had a personal nest diving score in the process. In the second half of the meet the 100 freestylers got everyone excited as Chloe Townsend and Jade Clasby finished 1-2 and Tara Horst wasn’t far behind in 4th. Other strong swims of the second half include the 1-3 finish in the 500 free with Kayla Beaty winning and Grace Rosenbaum going a personal best and almost placing second. After finishing second to the Red Devils in the 1st relay the bearcats won the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. The winning 200 free relay consisted of Elianor Priebe, Sarah Tinder, Katlyn Tracy, and Olivia Slaven. Olivia swam an exciting anchor leg to keep the Bearcats in front of Richmond. The 400 free relay had a similar finish with Kayla Beaty overcoming a 3 second deficit to lead the Bearcats to a victory. The rest of the relay included Grace Rosenbaum, Jade Clasby, and Chloe Townsend.
Natalie Smith was one of our sack lunch award winners this evening for her personal best diving score. Grace Rosenbaum received a second sack lunch for her 2:38 200 IM and 6:14 500 free. Olivia Slaven was awarded a sack lunch award for her great 500 free and anchor leg of the winning 200 free relay. Finally, the freshman Jade Clasby and Tara Horst won sack lunch awards for their great swims in the 100 freestlye as well and their other swims.
Kayla Beaty and Chloe Townsend were double event winners for the Bearcats this evening.
